Phoenix Bottling Works 1905-1908

First appearing in 1905 at 10 N Caroline St, the Phoenix Bottling Works then moved to 1749-1751 Orleans St just above Patterson Park and then in 1909 to a small row house at 2510 Madison Ave.  While predominantly catering to soft drink companies, one beer bottle from this company has been documented.  

By 1910 the company is out of business.

Aqua Loopseal Deadman

Frank Phillips Eagle Bottling House 1893-1917

Phillips started out at E. Eager St in 1893 before moving to 1905 E. Biddle st. in 1899.   Never a brewery but a bottler for several breweries through the years, soft drink manufactures and other refreshments.

A 1902 image of the Eagle Bottling House.  Phillips produced bottles here embossed with the Eagle name as well as using the same location for his own Frank Phillips bottles.

Phillips Bros. Champion Bottling Works 1893-1917

Henry Lake, John D, Levin W and Howard St Phillips were the owners and operators of the Champion Bottling Works at 609-611 S. Caroline St.  While never brewers they were a prolific bottlers for several Baltimore Breweries and Soda Water Manufacturers.

A 1902 image of the Champion Bottling Works.  While having a few bottles embossed with the Phillips Bros name, it was their embossed boxing bottle that are really enjoyed and collected by bottling enthusiasts.

This hand thrown Baltimore stoneware was most likely made by David Parr and follows other documented 1840-1860 Baltimore stoneware's shape, size and characteristics.  The company for which it was made is currently unknown but could have been for Nicholas Rooney, William Russell or another currently unknown local brewer.
