Frank Steil's Brewing Company 1899-1919

Steil's always promoted the fact that his brewery was independent of the Maryland Brewing Company and later the GBS Brewing Company due to their beer trusts and the publics dislike of the fact that one company took over so many breweries.

At times, Breweries would also attach labels to help identify the brewery and the beer to have them stand out in a crowd.  As each bottle was thoroughly washed between uses, labels almost never survived unless the bottle was discarded in a safe place.  Examples are generally found on bottles left in basements, attics and in the walls.
