Chesapeake Brewing Company 1901-1919

The Chesapeake Brewing Company located at 1528-1534 Pennsylvania Ave was very popular and they quickly established a good reputation and sales in Baltimore.  Their staple product was Diamond Back Beer with most bottles embossed with turtle variations.

By 1910 The Chesapeake Brewing Company took over a large area of Pennsylvania Ave and operated as a complete brewery, bottling house and distribution center.

City Bottling House 1876-1877

The City Bottling House was established by Charles Thompson and W J Wickham in 1876.  By 1877 George Kimberly was involved and Thompson was gone. By 1888 the company changed the name to the City Steam Bottling House leaving a very short window for the bottle identified below.

Isaac B Clark Bottling Works 1890-1894

Clark's Bottling Works was first located on Eastern Ave and by 1893 moved to 111 S. Ann St in Fells Point.  His short time of business has left very few bottles with his name.

In 1890 Clark's Bottling Works was established at 1426 & 1428 Eastern Ave.  In this Sanborn map the location was previously a Soda Water Factory.

John Clark Bottling House 1847-1860

Clark's Bottling Works used several different types of bottles including porters, early sodas and pony sodas.   Of those, the porter shape glass bottle was used for porter, ale and stout and is noted here.  Clark established his company at 101 N . Eutaw and in 1855 moved to 21 Thames St in Fells Point.  It is here that the bottle noted below ere blown and utilized due to the F. P. for Fells Point.  In 1859 he moved to Calhoun St but by 1860 was out of business.
