Vonder Horst Brewing Company 1866-1899

Vonder Horst's Eagle Brewery was very popular brewery on Belair Ave extended.  Once burned to the ground the brewery was rebuilt and the "Son" joined the company in 1892.  Vonder Horst was also the owner of the American League's Baltimore Orioles and Brooklyn's Superbas.  The brewery was sold to The Maryland Brewing Company in 1899 but no bottles were produced.  Interesting to note is that there were only two slugplates used.  Both "V" slugplates were later reworked, engraved with the Eagle motif, "TRADE MARK" and then reused.

An 1890 view of the Eagle Brewery.

Washington Bottling Company 1910-1913

The Washington Bottling Company bottled Weiss Beer and non alcoholic Ginger Beer at 2112 Aliceanna St in Fells Point.  There was also a branch in Washington, DC.

The Washington Bottling Company was gone by this 1914 view.  The facility may have brewed both Weiss and Ginger beer but the product was most likely shipped to this location in kegs and bottled on site.
