Consumers Brewing / Bottling Company 1898-1903

Consumers Brewing Company first operated in 1898 at 105 W. Pratt St with Morris Goldstein as the Agent.  This location was only a bottling house as the brewery was in Rosslyn Virginia.  The brewery would ship it's kegged beer to Baltimore via train where the beer would be siphoned from the keg and bottled for local use.  By 1902 the bottling house has moved to 402-404 Chester St and Samuel Pierce is the Agent.  All embossed bottle bear the motif of either Morris Goldstein (MG) or Samuel Pierce (SP).

105 W. Pratt St in 1901 where the Consumers Brewing / Bottling Company operated in a location the width of a rowhome.  In 1902 they double their size by moving to 402 -404 N. Chester St.  Consumer's beer was not very popular with the Baltimore crowd and they closed in 1903.

Consumers Brewing Company of Philadelphia 1898-1902

The Consumers Brewing Company of Philadelphia operated at 316-318 S. Eutaw St.  Like many other out of town beers, Baltimore natives liked local brews and with dwindling sales the company soon closed and left Baltimore.

In 1901 The Consumers Brewing Company operated out of a 2 rowhouse wide building where kegs were rolled in, the beer was siphoned to bottles and locally shipped out.
