Germania Brewing Company

Historical Context

The Germania brewery purchased and remodeled the old Stiefel Brewery originally known as the Carrollton Lager Beer Brewery or Stiefel Brewery, located on Frederick Ave Extended. They only operated from 1892-1899 then purchased by the Maryland Brewing Company. Germania's beers were bottled by Brendel & Schacher. In 1899 Germania was sold to the Maryland Brewing Company however no bottles from Maryland Brewing Company are documented from the Germania Branch.
