Baltimore Loopseal: Tooled

Description

(1885-1910) The Loopseal top tool is turned on the molten glass to form a uniform lip treatment. A tool is then used to form the Loopseal lip treatment suitable for the Baltimore Loopseal rubber and metal sealing device. Invented by William Painter, the "Loopseal" was a rubber disc with a small metal loop. The disc was pressed into a ring area of the bottle. A hook or extractor tool was used to pry out the Loopseal and enjoy the beer.
