Crown Top: Applied

Description

(1892- Date)Crown top is formed by applying a separate gather of molten glass to the neck finish. A tool is then used to form the crown lip suitable for the metal crown cap. Introduced in 1892 but quickly gave way to both tooled and machine made crown lip treatments.
